Traditional leg prosthetics enable amputees to maintain mobility and lead more active lives. But these prosthetics depend on soft limb tissue to function and can be painful to wear, resulting in awkward walking motion and possible skin infection.
Cell Therapeutics, Inc. announced today that it has submitted a Marketing Authorization Application to the European Medicines Agency for Pixuvri (pixantrone dimaleate) as monotherapy for the treatment of adult patients with multiply relapsed or refractory aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
From 1998 to 2008 there were marked changes in some patterns of substance use treatment admissions according to a study by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Although the concurrent abuse of both alcohol and drugs has remained widespread, the proportion of treatment admissions for the co-abuse of these substances has declined gradually yet significantly during this period - from 44 percent to 38 percent.
In a crowded health and wellness marketplace, knowing what's fact versus myth and effective versus ineffective can be a challenge. It also may be an obstacle for some people to find a sound and practical lifestyle program that they can maintain over time.
