An overwhelming majority of New Hampshire voters - 90 percent - support food safety legislation that would give the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) new authority to ensure the food Americans eat does not make them sick, according to a new poll commissioned by the Pew Health Group and conducted by Hart Research and Public Opinion Strategies.
Waters Corporation (NYSE: WAT) today hosted Dr. Lawrence Zintek, National Organic Methods Development Expert, United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 Central Regional Laboratory in Chicago, and author of two new rapid screening methods for Alkylphenols and Bisphenol A (BPA) using Waters® ACQUITY UPLC®/Quattro Premier(TM) XE (UPLC/MS/MS) recently published in American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International. Dr. Zintek was the keynote speaker at a Waters' breakfast seminar held in conjunction with the Water Quality Technology Conference sponsored by the American Water Works Association in Seattle.
A new study on the infant mortality (number of babies dying within their first year of life for every 1,000 live births) in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries has revealed some interesting and disturbing statistics. It has shown that babies born in America are less likely to survive their first year of life compared to other wealthy OECD countries.
Around 90% of those infected have not received treatment, despite the potential for cure, a report to coincide with National Hepatitis Week shows
