Premature babies treated with caffeine have better lung function in mid-childhood than preemies not treated with caffeine, according to a randomized controlled trial published in the American Thoracic Society's American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
Georgia's kidney care community today praised the Georgia State Senate for unanimously passing important legislation (S.B. 316) to secure access to needed health insurance for approximately 2,000 Georgians suffering from kidney failure. The bill, which was originally introduced by Senators Don Thomas (R-Dalton) and Ed Harbison (D-Columbus), has received support from across the patient advocacy community and legislators alike.
Patients with the most common type of liver cancer who are taking the chemotherapy drug sorafenib can begin their treatment with a lower dose than is currently considered standard, and it will not affect how long they live when compared to patients who start on the full dose.
Denator AB announced today that the company has entered into a 2-year collaboration with the Maastricht MultiModal Molecular Imaging Institute (M4I) of Maastricht University, the Netherlands. As part of the collaboration, Denator will work closely with the M4I Division of Imaging Mass Spectrometry, headed by university professor Ron Heeren, to jointly develop and evaluate innovative sample stabilization approaches for clinical applications.
