After 7 days of recovery from a 10-day period of deficient sleep, participants in a small study had recovered their pre-sleep deprivation reaction speed, but had not fully recovered on any other measures of function.
The chikungunya virus, which is transmitted to people by mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus), was found for the first time in the Americas on islands in the Caribbean in December 2013. Yesterday, the first case of chikungunya in the continental United States was reported in a man from Florida who had not recently travelled outside the United States.
Robert Rieveley, President of Biotech Holdings has announced that installation of pharmaceutic processing equipment required for Sucanon production is currently being completed. "Sucanon production is scheduled to begin within the week; our first production run is for 1.2 million Sucanon tablets, sufficient for 20,000 one-month Sucanon treatment packages.
A new study analyses the risk factors and excess mortality among heroin and cocaine consumers admitted to treatment in Spain. The results reveal that the fatality rate among consumers of both drugs is 14.3 times higher than for the general population, while among those only using cocaine, it is 5.1 times higher.
