Ground breaking new research is underway at the University of Surrey in collaboration with Columbia University to investigate if the body's immune response to infectious diseases and viruses, such as COVID-19, is altered by different seasons.
According to the American Cancer Society, more than one million people are diagnosed with cancer each year. In the United States, about 1 out of every 2 men and 1 out of every 3 women will have some type of cancer at some point during their lifetime. The sooner a cancer is detected and treatment begins, the better the patient's chances for survival.
Representatives of the African Union (AU) on Wednesday began meeting with members of the Obama administration in Washington, as part of the first Annual U.S.-African Union High Level Bilateral Meetings, United Press International reports (4/21).
