New research from UC San Francisco shows that an "expressive therapy" group intervention conducted by The Medea Project helps women living with HIV disclose their health status and improves their social support, self-efficacy and the safety and quality of their relationships.
The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Human Stem Cell Core Facility, which supports multiple research projects using stem cells to advance the understanding and ultimately the treatment of disease and injury, will receive a $2.8 million Shared Research Laboratory Grant from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM).
Cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and Memorial Hermann Heart & Vascular Institute are the first in Houston to implant the artificial heart valve recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration, as well as a newer, smaller version that is part of a clinical trial.
