Two of Almac's main research projects have been selected for presentation at the 2011 ASCO meeting. Both of these studies are based on Almac's approach of profiling large clinical datasets and analysing the data for molecular subgroups that can aid in improved diagnosis of cancer by identifying molecular subtypes and by identifying molecular subgroups which are of clinical and therapeutic relevance.
Concentrations of antibiotics found in some of the world's rivers exceed 'safe' levels by up to 300 times, the first ever global study has discovered.
New research findings appearing in the January Journal of Lipid Research indicate that compounds called oxysterols are not present in any significant amount in multiple sclerosis patients, contradicting a previous study that suggested that some of these cholesterol metabolites were associated with MS and could be used as diagnostic tools in the clinic.
A new topical lotion that penetrates the skin deeply enough to target and eliminate serious skin infections, but without being systemically absorbed, has shown a high degree of safety and tolerability in patients with onychomycosis, or toenail fungus, a new study has shown.
