A new drug for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) marked by a specific type of genetic mutation has shown surprising promise in a Phase II clinical trial.
Hebrew University researchers have developed a test for efficiently classifying bacterial strains as tolerant, resistant, or persistent. If implemented in the hospital setting, this innovation could help to guide treatment decisions, and could ultimately reduce the ever-growing risk of bacterial resistance.
One of two dozen major trauma centers named to be a part of the Department of Defense-funded Major Extremity Trauma Research Consortium (METRC), Saint Louis University will work to improve treatment for wounded service members and civilians. The partnership aims to conduct research to improve the care of major orthopaedic injuries sustained on the battlefield.
Eliminating financial barriers to a fitness center as well as providing physician support, a pleasant environment and trained fitness staff did not result in widespread membership activation or consistent attendance among low income, multi-ethnic women with chronic disease risk factors or diagnoses according to a new study from Boston University School of Medicine.
