The Ministry of Health Promotion joins the Canadian Cancer Society in the fight against cancer today to launch the fifth Driven to Quit Challenge. Since 2006, The Challenge has been successful in motivating more than 101,000 entrants to get on the road to better health with the support of a "buddy" and motivating prizes.
Current estimates of the impact of chemotherapy on women's reproductive health are too low, according to a University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) study.
In a new study published today in JAMA Cardiology, a team of researchers led by Rishi Wadhera, MD, MPP, MPhil, an investigator in the Smith Center for Outcomes Research in Cardiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, found that hospitals that received awards from the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology for the delivery of high-quality care for acute myocardial infarction and heart failure were more likely to be financially penalized under value-based programs than other hospitals.
The Global AIDS Alliance (GAA) calls on the Obama Administration to fully fund its development priorities and to continue U.S. Leadership in the fight against HIV/AIDS as an integral part of President Obama's Global Health Initiative.
DePuy Synthes today announced the availability of Continuous Compression Implants to health care providers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The implants are designed to provide continuous, active compression throughout the healing process to treat a variety of reconstructive foot and ankle procedures, and provide more solutions for our patients and customers.
