Misonix, Inc., an international surgical device company that designs, manufactures and markets innovative therapeutic ultrasonic products for spine surgery, skull based surgery, neurosurgery, wound debridement, cosmetic surgery, laparoscopic surgery and other surgical applications, announced today that Misonix has received the necessary Registration Certificate from the State Food and Drug Administration of the People's Republic of China to market and sell its BoneScalpel (Ultrasonic Osteotome System) product in China.
The University of Southern Nevada and St. Rose Dominican Hospitals have partnered to help shape Nevada's workforce by preparing qualified registered nurses to meet the state's future healthcare demand. As a result, career seekers and career changers who already have a bachelor's degree can become a registered nurse in 14 months through a new accelerated bachelor's degree in nursing (ABSN).
According to a study published Monday in the journal Pediatrics, researchers at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania found that kids who rode in cars with grandparents driving were less likely to get injured than kids riding with parent drivers. This is in spite of the fact that older drivers are more likely to be involved in crashes than younger ones. The finding was unexpected, the team reported.
Three Johns Hopkins Medicine hospitals are recipients of The Joint Commission's 2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures award. The Top Performer program recognizes hospitals for improving performance on evidence-based interventions that increase the chances of healthy outcomes for patients with certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children's asthma, stroke, venous thromboembolism (VTE) and perinatal care, as well as for inpatient psychiatric services and immunizations.
