The Hemophilia Foundation of Michigan is pleased to announce: Walkin' on the Wild Side for Hemophilia, its third annual fundraising walk at the Detroit Zoo. Walkin' on the Wild Side for Hemophilia takes place on Sunday, August 28, 2011.
The high court heard oral arguments Wednesday in the case that will determine how the federal Family and Medical Leave Act applies to state government workers.
As many as 52 million Americans have osteoporosis and low bone mass, and studies suggest that one in two women and up to one in four men ages 50 and older will break a bone due to osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is concerning because you can't feel your bones getting weaker, which is why it's often referred to as the "silent disease." May is National Osteoporosis Month and, since prunes have been linked to bone health, Sunsweet is urging Americans to listen to their bones this month and start taking action to keep bones strong and healthy.
The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) today announced over $3.2 million in new grants that will further its mission to assist the most marginalized populations vulnerable to HIV infection. These new awards brought EJAF's final total grant-making commitments for calendar 2011 to a record $8,316,871, with disbursements totaling $7,006,871 last year.
