Columbia Laboratories, Inc. "Sony Corporation and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria have entered into a partnership for the implementation of behavior change projects, in which Sony provides state of the art equipment and movies and the Global Fund ensures it gets to agencies best able to reach communities most in need," a Global Fund press release states, noting, "This partnership is the first pilot case that combines pro bono and in-kind contribution."
A large European research consortium headed by the University of Twente is to receive grants of more than five million euros, predominantly from the EU, to develop a new imaging device for the diagnosis of breast cancer.
A new pilot study demonstrated the feasibility of using molecular tumor markers as the basis for selecting the chemotherapeutic agents to use in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.
The Allergy Centre of the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin will host three international scientific conferences in the upcoming week. According to Prof. Marcus Maurer, Associate Director of the Allergy Centre at the Clinic for Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology: "Allergological issues have been gaining in importance among clinical physicians."
