Today, Novo Nordisk, a world leader in diabetes care, launched a free 5-volume diabetes educational e-book series, designed to help patients work with their health care team to better manage their diabetes. The e-book series is part of Cornerstones4Care™, an innovative patient support program that provides highly customizable diabetes information through the comprehensive interactive website www.Cornerstones4Care.com.
The state's teachers union, Wisconsinites learned, had used its power to collectively bargain for healthcare benefits to demand that local school districts provide coverage through a nonprofit insurer affiliated with the union. Once the state ended bargaining on healthcare, school boards began competitively bidding out their health insurance. By the opening of the new school year in September, just two months after the budget bill went into effect, 23 districts had rebid their contracts, saving $16 million, or an average of $211 per student.
A standardized test that can now be used in the seven main languages in India will support the diagnosis of dementia and mild cognitive impairment.
A large observational study suggests that treatment with the antimalarial drug chloroquine or its analog hydroxychloroquine (taken with or without the antibiotics azithromycin or clarithromycin) offers no benefit for patients with COVID-19.
