The Organisation for the Coordination of the Struggle Against Epidemics in Central Africa (OCEAC) on Tuesday announced that the German government has granted $34 million to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in central Africa, Agence France-Presse reports.
"China's vaccine makers are gearing up over the next few years to push exports in a move that should lower costs of lifesaving immunizations for the world's poor and provide major new competition for the big Western pharmaceutical companies," the Associated Press reports in a feature examining the entry of Chinese vaccine makers into the international market.
In a new study out of China, a wellness program based at the workplace was seen to improve blood pressure control among the participants. The study titled, "Effect of a Workplace-Based Multi-Component Intervention on Hypertension Control A Randomized Clinical Trial," in the latest issue of the journal JAMA Cardiology.
New study by the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore and National University Hospital Singapore suggests that a variant of a cell surface protein is an ideal target for developing drugs to treat gastric cancer
A recent neuroimaging study reveals that the ability to distinguish true from false in our daily lives involves two distinct processes. Previous research relied heavily on the premise that true and false statements are both processed in the left inferior frontal cortex.
