According to a new major study one in eight children born with HIV becomes resistant to the three main classes of drugs used to suppress the virus within five years of starting treatment. This is the first major study that looks at drug resistance in 1,000 European children born with HIV. It raises questions about the suitability of anti-retroviral drugs for the young.
Unitive Design & Analysis Ltd, a London-based SME, announced today their success in being awarded an Innovate UK grant to develop a commercial roadmap for a Quantum Technology- based brain imaging system.
As part of its innovative rehabilitation efforts to assist Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)/Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) military personnel (active duty and non-active) with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) and their families, Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation is hosting the second session of Survive & Thrive at The Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort in Solvang, CA. The event takes place from April 4 through April 8, 2011.
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today announced it has signed a long-term license agreement with Fujirebio Inc. to make its biomarker assay Procalcitonin (PCT) available on the Lumipulse family of laboratory instruments, using the chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay (CLEIA) technology.
Icotinib has been found to be noninferior to gefitinib in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer, according to reports from the phase III Chinese double-blind ICOGEN study.
