Once-promising drugs that were abandoned in the fight against breast cancer still could be effective in obese patients, new research suggests.
Infertility is consistently listed as one of the most distressing long-term side effects of cancer treatment for adolescents and young adults. Yet the leading National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers - which should be leaders in fertility preservation - aren't doing an adequate job of helping patients protect their fertility, reports a new Northwestern Medicine- study.
Cherwell Laboratories have confirmed their continued support for the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Sciences Society - UCL Q3P Annual Conference 2017.
A team of researchers has devised a Pac-Man-style power pellet that gets normally mild-mannered cells to gobble up their undesirable neighbors. The development may point the way to therapies that enlist patients' own cells to better fend off infection and even cancer, the researchers say. A description of the work will be published July 15 in the journal Science Signaling.
A medicine widely used to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) also provides long-term relief from the attention and behavior changes that affect many childhood cancer survivors, according to a multicenter trial led by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital investigators.
