Is the global response to the pandemic effective? Is it inclusive? Three professors from the University of Ottawa, along with a leading global health ethicist and former Health Minister Jane Philpott, today published a book of essays analyzing the COVID-19 pandemic from the standpoint of law, ethics, and public policy.
A new study published in the March 2020 issue of the journal Experimental Results reports that based on data from over 6,500 subjects, the commonly used AQ10 test is not relevant in diagnosing autism. That means a re-examination of the approach used at present to pick up this condition in the population at large is needed. It also means there is a question mark on the validity of research based on this test.
Children exposed to high levels of air pollution during their first year of life run a greater risk of developing asthma, pollen allergies, and impaired respiratory function.
With roughly 80% of jobs being sedentary, often requiring several hours of sitting stooped in front of a computer screen, neck pain is a growing occupational hazard. Smartphones and other devices have also caused people to bend their necks for prolonged periods. But is bad posture solely to blame?
