A new study says that children whose parents smoke tend to miss more school than their classmates with non-smoking parents — possibly because of a higher rate of respiratory infections.
Lantheus Medical Imaging, Inc., a worldwide leader in diagnostic imaging, today announced that it has received additional supply of molybdenum-99 (Mo-99) to produce vital medical isotopes for its TechneLite® (Technetium Tc99m Generator) generators as the result of a recent agreement between the Institute for Radioelements (IRE), Fleurus, Belgium, and the Nuclear Research Institute (NRI), Rez, Czech Republic.
The Orthopedic Clinic and Policlinic at the University Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) has recently deployed a new system for the treatment of spinal tumors for the first time.
"Two U.N. agencies on Monday presented a new tool to map health risks linked to climate change and extreme weather conditions, enabling authorities to give advance warnings and act to prevent 'climate-sensitive' diseases from spreading," Agence France-Presse reports.
