After the State Department released recommendations for how to improve its own effectiveness and that of USAID in last week's Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review (QDDR), the Kaiser Daily Global Health Policy Report's Jaclyn Schiff spoke with Jennifer Kates, vice president and director of Global Health Policy & HIV at the Kaiser Family Foundation, about the QDDR in relation to U.S. global health efforts.
Merck Serono, a division of Merck KGaA, and its U.S. affiliate, EMD Serono, Inc. today announced that they are resuming their Stimuvax® (BLP25 liposome vaccine) clinical program in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) which includes the Phase III studies, STARTa and INSPIREb. The treatment and enrollment in these studies will restart after approval by the local regulatory authorities and ethics committees.
A measuring procedure developed in the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) can help to investigate in some detail the behaviour of magnetic nanoparticles which are used for cancer therapy.
In order to make meaningful gains in cardiovascular disease care, primary care medical practices should adopt a set of care improvements specific to their practice size and type, according to a new study from the national primary care quality improvement initiative EvidenceNOW.
Dogs, known for their extraordinarily keen senses of smell, can be trained to use their sensitive sniffers to find drugs, bombs, bed bugs, missing hikers and even cancer.
