There is growing evidence, say researchers in this week's PLoS Medicine, that people who experience facial flushing after drinking alcohol are at much higher risk of esophageal cancer from alcohol consumption than those who do not.
Cumberland Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced today that data from two key clinical trials for CaldolorĀ®, an intravenous formulation of ibuprofen approved for treatment of pain and fever in adults, will be presented at the American Academy of Pain Management's (AAPM) 20th Annual Clinical Meeting to be held in Phoenix, Ariz., on October 8-11, 2009.
Given the amount of angst over male pattern balding, surprisingly little is known about its cause at the cellular level. In a new study, published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, a team led by George Cotsarelis, MD, chair of the Department of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, has found that stem cells play an unexpected role in explaining what happens in bald scalp.
