Telmisartan, a drug widely used to help control blood pressure, may have uniquely potent activity in preventing stroke, according to a new study conducted in an animal model.
Global biotherapeutics leader CSL Behring announced today that the company has submitted its new drug application to Japan's Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency for its investigational fusion protein linking recombinant coagulation factor IX with recombinant albumin (rIX-FP).
Researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine have made an important discovery about why potassium builds up to dangerous levels in the bloodstream, a relatively common medical problem that affects about eight percent of hospitalized patients.
...and could have harmful health effects in some people, according to a study by University of California - San Francisco (UCSF) scientists. Their placebo-controlled clinical study is the first to examine the pharmacological effects of these re-formulated dietary supplements.
