Taking calcium and vitamin D supplements does not reduce breast cancer incidence in postmenopausal women, according to data from a randomized, doubled-blind, placebo-controlled trial published online November 11 in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

This is why Improving Patient Advocacy in Chronic Kidney Disease (ImPACKD), a group of CKD patients and caregivers committed to raising awareness about the risks of calcium overuse, is starting the conversation about the importance of knowing the limits and keeping them in check.
Patients with diabetes who undergo total knee replacement surgery do not have increased risk of surgical complications compared to those patients without diabetes, according to a Kaiser Permanente study published today in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
