The human opportunistic pathogen, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, has broken the immune system's code, report researchers from the University of Chicago, enabling the bacteria to recognize when its host is most vulnerable and to launch an attack before the weakened host can muster its defenses.
Technicians are needed to help hospitals develop and use electronic health records. Other reports look at the efforts to develop secure and efficient digital records.
A novel study by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco found that nearly one-third of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients differed from their physicians in assessment of their disease severity. The disagreement between patient and doctor evaluation of RA activity was most prevalent in patients with depressive symptoms, and those who had poor overall function.
The German Research Foundation has approved the establishment of a new Collaborative Research Center in the field of materials science, in which Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz is participating with a pioneering subproject. In addition, an existing CRC coordinated by JGU was approved for a further funding period of four years.
CANCER is on the rise and the need to be empathetic when giving a patient their diagnosis and throughout treatment is imperative.
