Educating people with diabetes in a primary-care setting with sustained, comprehensive intervention resulted in significant improvement in disease management and overall health, according to a study published in the current issue of Diabetes Care, a journal of the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
The World Health Organization's 'Commit to Quit' tobacco campaign has made resources from its Quitting Toolkit freely available to more than a billion tobacco users, less than 5 months into the year-long campaign.
"This report demonstrates the anti-religious, anti-parent, and anti-family bias of Planned Parenthood's approach to children," stated Emmett McGroarty, Director of Preserve Innocence, an initiative of the American Principles Project focused on protecting the innocence of children. Mr. McGroarty's comment referred to a new report from International Planned Parenthood Federation entitled Stand and Deliver: Sex, Health, and Young People in the 21st Century.
Genetic polymorphisms associated with cancer progression lead to variations in gene expression and may serve as prognostic markers for lung cancer. Researchers at the Hiroshima University and Saitama Medical University found that in patients with lung cancer, a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) may regulate gene and protein expression and be associated with poor prognosis.
