Researchers at the University of California in San Francisco have developed artificial intelligence (AI) technology that improves the effectiveness of brain imaging for the prediction of Alzheimer's disease.
The first clinical trial of adipose (fat) tissue-derived stem and regenerative cells (ADRCs) for the treatment of no-option chronic heart disease patients showed the following: the procedure was safe and feasible; it demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in maximum oxygen consumption and patients' aerobic capacity measured as metabolic equivalents
In a research presentation today at the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Annual Meeting, Massimo Busin, MD, department head and professor of ophthalmology at the Villa Serena Hospital, Forli, Italy, described a technique that significantly improved results in patients being treated for endothelial disease of the cornea, the transparent covering of the front of the eye that provides much of its optical power.
The significance of histological examination in the classification and diagnosis of clinical conditions is reliant on the expertise of the histology laboratory in managing the wide spectrum of specimen types submitted for analysis.
Nearly two-thirds of children who undergo routine interventional cardiology procedures - those involving a catheter to treat structural disorders of the heart - may be receiving treatment with a device that's being used for an off-label application.
