Today, as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration continues to weigh a potential menthol ban, the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Public Health Association, Center for American Progress and Legacy called for menthol cigarettes to be taken off the market, citing key findings published today in the American Journal of Public Health.
RegeneRx Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a $3 million grant from the National Institutes of Health's National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute to support and accelerate the clinical development of its novel product candidate RGN-352, an injectable formulation of the novel therapeutic peptide Thymosin beta 4, or Tβ4, for patients who have suffered an acute myocardial infarction, or AMI, commonly known as a heart attack.
Senomyx, Inc., a leading company in using proprietary taste science technologies to discover, develop and commercialize novel flavor ingredients for the food, beverage and flavor industries, announced today that it has entered into a new collaborative agreement with PepsiCo, Inc. related to Senomyx's Salt Taste Program.
"There is currently a $3.6 billion funding gap on malaria in Africa, according to the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, whose board concluded its 23rd meeting in Dakar, Senegal, on December 7," Devex's "Development Newswire" blog reports.
Despite technological advances, discrimination against consumers inhibited by disabilities or disadvantaged by personal circumstances remains a significant problem.
