Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today reported that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Phadia, a global leader in blood tests for the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergies and autoimmune diseases.
A new study reports that the risk of transmitting SARS-CoV-2 through such fomites is very low.
To better understand what happens during immune reactions in the body, researchers at Tübingen University have developed a new way of labeling T-cells, allowing them to track the T-cell movement in mice using non-invasive positron emission technology (PET).
Results of the world's first publicly funded randomized controlled clinical trial of spinal cord stimulation, being presented today at the 12th World Congress of the International Neuromodulation Society, conclude that a fully powered clinical trial is feasible in refractory chronic angina pectoris, a disabling and persistent chronic pain condition.
Mutations to the spike protein and receptor-binding domain are responsible for these changes in immunogenic profile, and in a paper recently uploaded to the open access journal Antibiotics by Ambrose et al. (May 6th, 2021) these mutations are correlated with various disease parameters by in silico methods, finding that particular features are responsible for the increased infectiousness and lesser disease severity observed in these lineages.
