The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved the Roche cobas HPV Test as the first test for Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) that can be used with cervical cells obtained for a Pap test and collected in SurePath Preservative Fluid.
Heptares Therapeutics, the clinical-stage GPCR structure-guided drug discovery and development company, is delighted to announce that the Malcolm Campbell Memorial Prize for 2015 has been awarded to Miles Congreve (Vice President of Chemistry), Fiona Marshall (Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder) and Malcolm Weir (Chief Executive Officer and co-founder) for the seminal contributions to GPCR drug discovery made by Heptares Therapeutics since the company was founded in 2007.
At the end of 2011, 6.2 million people in sub-Saharan Africa were taking antiretroviral drugs, about 56 percent of the people in need in the region, UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibe noted in an interview last week, saying, "Ten years ago, nobody would have imagined that such a result would be possible," Agence France-Presse reports. "Sidibe - visiting Paris ahead of the July 22-27 International AIDS Conference in Washington - said he was worried that African countries remained so dependent on foreign help," the news service states.
Medical costs per workers' compensation claim in Texas were stable in 2007, following several years of dramatic decreases. The decline in costs resulted from the enactment of two major pieces of reform legislation as well as an increased effort to manage medical care by system payors, according to a new study by the Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI).
