The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC), along with other organizations in Canada including the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and the Canadian Institutes for Health Research, is in strong support of rigorous scientific research to determine the possible link between blood vessel anomalies and multiple sclerosis and the potential benefits of surgical intervention to relieve its symptoms.
A recent study conducted by Wendy White, associate professor of food science and nutrition at Iowa State University, shows that eating salad vegetables with some added fat promotes the absorption of lycopene, alpha- and beta-carotenes, all of which aid in the fight against cancer and heart disease.
Genzyme, a Sanofi company, announced today four-year follow-up data from patients enrolled in the phase 2 clinical trial for its investigational oral therapy for Gaucher disease type 1 known as eliglustat tartrate.
