"Butch" Otter for signing into law real-time, stop-sale technology called the National Precursor Log Exchange (NPLEx) which allows check-out clerks to block illegal pseudoephedrine purchases right at the point of sale and provides law enforcement with valuable criminal data up to the minute.

Saver, professor of neurology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and director of the UCLA Stroke Center, received the William Feinberg Award for Excellence in Clinical Stroke at the American Stroke Association's 2012 International Stroke Conference in New Orleans on Feb. 2.
A large number of U.S. children live or will live with a "social father," a man who is married to or cohabiting with the child's mother, but is not the biological father. A new study in the Journal of Marriage and Family examined differences in the parenting practices of four groups of fathers according to whether they were biologically related to a child and whether they were married to the child's mother.
