For the first time, physicians in the Emergency Department have evidence-based recommendations on how best to catch the life-threatening conditions that make some people faint.
As the warm summer months approach, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) reminds City landlords and residents to install window guards to help prevent deaths and injuries from window falls. DOHMH today cited data showing an overall decrease in the number of preventable falls since Section 131.15 of the City's Health Code
Higher intake of foods containing vitamin D during pregnancy - but not supplemental vitamin D intake - was associated with reduced risk of development of allergies in children, according to a study led by an investigator from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and published today in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Scientists from the Florida campus of The Scripps Research Institute have been awarded nearly $1.5 million from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health to explore the therapeutic potential of a class of proteins that play essential roles in the regulation and maintenance of human health.
