Utah Medical Insurance Association (UMIA), the leading provider of medical professional liability insurance for physicians in Utah, Montana, and Wyoming, and The Doctors Company, the nation's largest insurer of physician and surgeon medical professional liability, announced today that they have entered into a merger agreement pursuant to which UMIA will be acquired by The Doctors Company through its wholly owned subsidiary, Underwriter for the Professions Insurance Company.
Scientists from Australia's national science agency, CSIRO, can now detect gluten in any food and show which grain it comes from, making it easier for food companies to correctly label their products.
The current use of written care plans and care planning in the management of patients with long-term conditions by GPs in the UK is rare, a new study shows. This is just one of several findings of a new study published today by researchers at the Universities of Manchester, Cambridge, Keele and York.
After two months of deliberation and debate to try to find ways to cut the deficit by $1.2 trillion over ten years, the deficit panel is expected to announce today that it was unable to come to terms on an agreement.
Orthopaedic researchers at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFUBMC) have been awarded a $2.24 million four-year grant from the U. S. Department of Defense (DOD) to study the use of keratin gel in the regeneration of damaged peripheral nerves, those in the hands, arms and feet.
