Arbor Pharmaceuticals announced today that it has filed its first New Drug Application (NDA) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The recently filed product has been granted an Orphan designation by the FDA which provides seven years of market exclusivity.
The March of Dimes Foundation, the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health, Save the Children, and the WHO on Wednesday released a new report, titled "Born Too Soon: The Global Action Report on Preterm Birth," showing that 15 million infants are born prematurely each year, 1.1 million of those infants die, but 75 percent of those deaths are preventable.
Merck, known as MSD outside the United States and Canada, issued the following statement on GARDASIL, Merck's vaccine to protect against certain diseases caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6, 11, 16 and 18.
Using fruit flies, the researchers confirmed that a technique developed at Rice - near-infrared fluorescent imaging - was capable of detecting DNA-sized nanotubes inside living fruit flies.
American and European studies prove that students use prescription medication or drugs to enhance their cognitive performance. Researchers from the universities of Zurich and Basel examined whether Swiss students have also experimented with neuroenhancement and which substances they take by conducting a survey of 6,725 students with an average age of 23 at the two universities and ETH Zurich.
