Eye research charity Fight for Sight is raising awareness of the importance of eye donation and the current shortfall in corneas for transplant, after research found that eyes are the organ Brits would be the least likely to donate after their death, when asked to choose from a list.
A team of investigators, led by Dr. Benjamin F. Mann, from Merck, USA have published a new study on the preprint server bioRxiv*. They have used a biochemical approach to control the glycosylation profile of the S protein receptor-binding domain (RBD) and to analyze the effect of different glycosylation patterns on receptor binding.
Executives from Senexis Limited (Cambridge,UK) signed an agreement with O2h (Ahmedabad, India) under which O2h will provide Senexis with chemistry services to support a patent filing on a novel chemical series that have shown potential in pre-clinical models, as disease modifying treatments for Alzheimer's Disease.
I-FLOW CORPORATION announced today that total revenue for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 increased 14% to $36.7 million compared to total revenue of $32.2 million for the third quarter of 2008.
Researchers from the University of Leicester and University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust have introduced an alternative method to diagnose the cause of death, which in many cases can replace the need for the traditional invasive autopsy. This can be purchased by the family and will be performed within the NHS hospitals.
