Although heart attack death has declined across all regions of the United States, it is proportionately higher in the South, possibly related to the uneven distribution of socioeconomic and traditional cardiovascular risk factors, according to research to be presented at the American College of Cardiology's 63rd Annual Scientific Session.
While much attention is devoted to reducing medical errors in hospitals, there's a lesser focus on rooting out patient care errors in emergency medical services. To address that gap, the Missouri Center for Patient Safety is developing a program to help medical professionals systematically improve quality and reduce errors during treatment and transport provided by ambulance service providers.
The intestine has a high rate of cellular regeneration due to the wear and tear originated by its function degrading and absorbing nutrients and eliminating waste. The entire cell wall is renewed once a week approximately.
The administration has announced that more veterans will be able to use private facilities since the VA system is overcrowded, but hospitals are concerned it could strain their systems.
Hardening of the coronary arteries is more likely in wives when they and their husbands express hostility during marital disagreements, and more common in husbands when either they or their wives act in a controlling manner.
