Leica Microsystems announce the launch of its clinical workflow solution for Digital Pathology at Pathology Visions 2011. Digital Image Hub Enterprise* with its powerful image management, integration and communication capabilities, in conjunction with a new high performance, intuitive client viewer, SlidePath Gateway*, combine to make this the ideal solution for clinical centers moving towards true Digital Pathology implementation. Furthermore, Leica's Total Digital Pathology solutions now provide an implementation of the DICOM Supplement 145 standard for both slide scanning and viewing.
Today the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues (Bioethics Commission) reported that the federal government has both a prudential and a moral responsibility to actively participate in coordinated global responses to public health emergencies wherever they arise.
Though the initial phase of the debt deal doesn't include immediate provider cuts, analysts say the next phase — the work of the 'super committee' — could make significant reductions in spending for entitlements like Medicare and Medicaid. Even some elements of the health law and scientific research could be on the chopping block.
Global regenerative medicine company, Mesoblast Limited, (ASX: MSB), today announced that it had received clearance from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to begin a 225-patient multi-center Phase 2 clinical trial in Europe for its lead cardiovascular product Revascor™ in conjunction with angioplasty and stent procedures to prevent heart failure after a major heart attack. Revascor™ is an allogeneic, or "off-the-shelf", adult stem cell product derived from Mesoblast's proprietary Mesenchymal Precursor Cell (MPC) platform technology which is being developed for use in a range of cardiovascular diseases including congestive heart failure, chronic angina, and heart attacks (acute myocardial infarction).
