Almost three quarters of Britain's young men and women are boosting their risk of potentially fatal skin cancer in their search for a suntan. A specially commissioned survey for Cancer Research UK today reveals that 70 per cent of 16 to 24 year olds still want a tan on holiday despite warnings of over exposure to the sun.
Mylan Inc. today announced that the company's Mylan Pharmaceuticals and Matrix Laboratories subsidiaries entered into a settlement and license agreement with Pfizer Inc. relating to Voriconazole Tablets, 50 mg and 200 mg, the generic version of Pfizer's Vfend Tablets, a triazole antifungal agent.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved the first new drug to fight tuberculosis (TB) in more than 40 years, but treatment still takes six months, 200 pills and leaves 40 percent of patients uncured. Thus, new targets are needed. Today in ACS Central Science, researchers report they have identified one such target - a gene that allows the disease to camp out in human immune cells, and is thus essential for the organism's proliferation.
On National Kidsafe Day, parents and carers of children are being urged to consider whether they are buckling up properly before hitting the road.
