Conmed Healthcare Management, Inc. has signed a new agreement with Ocean County, New Jersey, to provide correctional healthcare services for the detainees at its jail for an initial three-year term, beginning July 1, 2011, with two optional one-year renewals.
James D. Watson, Ph.D., winner of the 1962 Nobel Prize with Francis Crick and Maurice Wilkins for the discovery of the double helical structure of DNA, will present "Curing Incurable Cancer" and attend other events associated with the Kentucky Derby. Watson's appearances are sponsored by the James Graham Brown Cancer Center at the University of Louisville.
Many people who contract the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), develop only mild and moderate symptoms. A small fraction of those infected develop severe symptoms, which usually occur in people who are at higher risk due to comorbidities.

If a comprehensive health reform bill passes and extends coverage to millions of uninsured Americans, many are asking if there will be enough primary-care doctors to handle the increased demand for medical services."
