The British scientist Sir Richard Doll, who was the first scientist to expose the link between smoking and lung cancer, has died in hospital, after a short illness; he was 92.
last week at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, researchers announced encouraging results from studies of two cancer medications that appeared to keep breast cancer from advancing.
In a paper published in the Nov. 21 issue of Cell, a team led by Mauro Calabrese, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina in the lab of Terry Magnuson, chair of the department of genetics and member of the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, broadens the understanding of how cells regulate silencing of the X chromosome in a process known as X-inactivation.
BSP, which develops and commercializes advanced products for the non invasive, accurate diagnosis of heart diseases, announced today that its Add-On product, the HyperQ AD-100, intended for improved diagnostic performance of Stress ECG, has been granted the European CE conformance mark.
Reports show that now only four per cent of women aged 18-44 want a baby. Around seven in 10 women say they want kids at some stage. Women want to feel financially secure before settling down says the report. The survey, which was conducted by Galaxy Research between March 30 and April 2, was commissioned by the ovulation and pregnancy test company Clearblue.
