A new study provides evidence from lab experiments that a drug already used in people to fight tapeworms might also prove effective against strains of the superbug MRSA, which kills thousands of people a year in the United States.
The class of immunotherapies known as checkpoint inhibitors have proven to be a highly effective and advantageous treatment option for many cancer patients, but they don't work well for everyone, and oncologists have no reliable way to determine in advance which patients are likely to respond to these drugs.
An innovative robotic sample management system developed by the SME-led PMS project carries out complex sample transport operations rapidly and with a high level of reliability. It includes a new transport system based on magnetic hover railway technologies, a new laboratory information system and a special selective analyser. PMS partners are now predicting a substantial market share for their transport system.
NBI Juiceworks has joined forces with two of the leading distributors in Texas: Metroplex Organics, based in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and Houston-based Bev Source. Both companies will be distributing Drenchers(TM) 100 percent all natural super juices, Fit 'N Lean super juices and all natural Fit 'N Lean Super Blends.
Oasmia Pharmaceutical AB, developer of a new generation of drugs within human and veterinary oncology, announced today the topline findings from a head-to-head comparison study of its lead human cancer product candidate Paclical and Celgene's Abraxane, which show similar pharmacokinetic (PK) profiles of the two products. The study was conducted in women with metastatic breast cancer.
