AccentHealth, the leading patient education company at the Point-of-Care, announced today it has purchased the Asthma and Allergy waiting room television network of Caervision Corp. The new doctor office locations will become part of the AccentHealth network and will carry AccentHealth's award-winning health education programming produced by CNN.
It is less than five months to go until the 2017 ESCP Meeting, which is taking place in Berlin between 20 and 21 September. The meeting, hosted by the European Society of Coloproctology, brings together global experts to drive innovation and best practice in the field and will feature the latest coloproctological research.
A study of almost 1,500 kidney cancer patients treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center suggests that surgery to spare as much kidney tissue as possible may improve overall survival in patients who also have reduced kidney function at the time their cancer is diagnosed. The finding is significant because both kidney cancer and decreased kidney function appear to be increasing.
Researchers at Jefferson Medical College have implicated a protein called GRK5 as having an important role behind essential hypertension, which affects more than 65 million Americans.
University of California researchers found that the incidence rate for all causes of dementia in people age 90 and older is 18.2% annually and significantly increases with age in both men and women. This research, called "The 90+ Study," is one of only a few to examine dementia in this age group, and the first to have sufficient participation of centenarians.
