Walter and Eliza Hall Institute researchers have revealed a new vulnerability in lymphomas that are driven by one of the most common cancer-causing changes in cells.
A team led by a scientist from the Florida campus of The Scripps Research Institute has identified a new biomarker linked to better outcomes of patients with head and neck cancers and non-small cell lung cancer. The work could help scientists develop new diagnostics and therapies and help physicians determine the best long-term treatments for patients with these cancers.
During the past 15 years, the number of critical access hospitals – those with fewer than 25 acute care beds that receive higher reimbursements and other considerations from Medicare to help sustain them – has increased substantially, representing a quarter of all U.S. acute care hospitals in 2011.
Women from lower socioeconomic groups in the UK report a poorer experience of care during pregnancy and there needs to be a greater focus on their care, suggests a new study published today (17 September) in BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
