Researchers from the Harvard affiliated Hebrew SeniorLife Institute for Aging Research, have published a recent article in the Journal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation which gives evidence that sub-sensory vibrations delivered to the foot sole of older adults significantly augmented the physiologic complexity of postural control and led to improvement in a given mobility assessment.
A Wayne State University School of Medicine physician-researcher has developed a personalized therapy to treat a wide range of cancers. The treatment is based on a naturally occurring human enzyme that has been genetically modified to fool cancer cells into killing themselves.
Syndax Pharmaceuticals Inc. today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has designated entinostat as a Breakthrough Therapy for the treatment of locally recurrent or metastatic estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer when added to exemestane in postmenopausal women whose disease has progressed following non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor therapy.
The suffering of millions of people with allergies could one day be eased thanks to new research from UK investigators. Findings from the University College London branch of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (LICR), published in the Oct 2004 issue of Nature, detail how inactivating a key signalling molecule called p110delta reduced the effect of allergies on mice.
