Piramal Imaging SA, a newly formed subsidiary of Piramal Healthcare Limited, announced positive first results from a Phase III study that showed that PET imaging with florbetaben reliably detects beta-Amyloid in the brain during life with great accuracy and thus shows value as a potential tool to aid in the diagnosis and assessment of Alzheimer's disease.
Many of the tools for tackling the global epidemics of malnutrition, obesity and their associated health problems are already with us, but are stuck in ‘development limbo', according to an expert in GM technology.
Noguchi explained that immunotherapy has emerged recently as a viable and attractive strategy for the treatment of advanced cancer.
Researchers at Rockefeller have used an ultra sensitive device to detect the olfactory systems of insects that help them smell out food and danger. The study titled, "Cryo-EM structure of the insect olfactory receptor Orco," on the ion channels that form the basis of the odour detecting systems of insects was published in the latest issue of the journal Nature.
