4medica, the leading independent provider of Web-based connectivity between physicians and clinical laboratories, announced today that it will demonstrate the versatility of its Integrated Health Record (IHR™) solution at the 2010 Annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Interoperability Showcase at booth #233 in Hall C of the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta from March 1-3, 2010.
A new study could supply the missing link in the story of the brain consolidates floating memories into a permanent structure while we sleep. The study, published in the journal eNeuro, shows how a brain region, appropriately called the nucleus reuniens, ‘goes between' two other memory-linked structures – the hippocampus and the prefrontal cortex.
The White House report offers recommendations related to early childhood, parenting, food in schools, access to healthy and affordable food and physical activity. Taken individually, none of these is a silver bullet (Tom Newton, 5/19).
The study, which looked at Medicare records of more than 130,000 women, found that those who underwent the faster treatment, called brachytherapy, were about twice as likely to have a mastectomy in the following five years -;
An international research consortium co-led by Andrea L. Gropman, M.D., at Children's National Hospital has received $5 million in federal funding as part of an overall effort to better understand rare diseases and accelerate potential treatments to patients.
