Keane, Inc., a U.S.-based IT services and healthcare technology firm, today announced a partnership between its Healthcare Solutions Division (HSD) and Ormed Information Systems, Ltd. against the backdrop of the Healthcare Financial Management Annual National Institute conference (HFMA ANI). Ormed is a leading supplier of human resources, supply chain, E-commerce, and accounting management software, and is entering their 21st year in supporting only the healthcare industry.
The overall project will concentrate on three areas where Europe is in a relatively favourable position compared with the US - human tissue resources, ribonucleic acid (RNA) technology, and structural proteomics. However, the initial focus will be on the development of genomics targets in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or liver cancer as it is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide and has a very poor prognosis.
