Labopharm Inc. today announced that on November 11, 2010 it received notice from Actavis South Atlantic LLC advising that Actavis has submitted an Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval to market 150 and 300 mg generic versions of OLEPTRO™ (trazodone hydrochloride extended-release 150 and 300 mg tablets) in the United States.
Previous research on an apparent narrowing of the historical "gender gap" in drinking prevalence found that girls were more likely to start drinking before 18 years of age compared to boys.
Scientists thought they basically knew how the most common drugs used to treat type 2 diabetes worked, but a new study from the Florida campus of The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) reveals unexpected new aspects of the process. These findings could eventually lead to more potent anti-diabetic drugs with fewer serious side effects.
New research provides insight into a long-observed, but little-understood connection between chronic pain and anxiety and offers a potential target for treatment.
Because of 1988 and 1990 amendments to the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, off-label distribution or provision of human growth hormone to treat aging or age-associated illnesses is illegal in the United States, according to a report in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
