People taking oral steroids are twice as likely as the general population to have severe vitamin D deficiency, according to a study of more than 31,000 children and adults by scientists at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University.
A team of researchers at the University of Georgia and Emory University will receive $1.9 million over the next five years from the National Institutes of Health to study the neurobiological mechanisms for how regular aerobic exercise may prevent drug abuse relapse.
In the largest collaborative study of the brain to date, researchers from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California led a global consortium of 190 institutions to identify eight common genetic mutations that appear to age the brain an average of three years. The discovery could lead to targeted therapies and interventions for Alzheimer's disease, autism and other neurological conditions.
The breast itself doesn't contain any muscles and the only 2 supporting structures are the skin and the Cooper's ligaments. Both of those structures are quite weak mechanically so they're not able to hold the breast in place firmly.
Intelerad Medical Systems, a leader in medical imaging PACS and workflow solutions, today announced that InHealth Imaging, LLC has chosen IntelePACS as their first filmless PACS system, including the IntelePACS Breast Imaging module.
