Women who have the most serious form of angina are three times as likely to develop severe coronary artery disease as men with the same condition, according to the July issue of the Journal of Internal Medicine.
The enteric nervous system (ENS), the "little brain" that resides within the gut wall, governs motility, secretion, and blood flow in the human gastrointestinal tract. Failure of the ENS to develop normally leads to congenital megacolon (Hirschsprung Disease) while loss of normal gut innervation is thought to contribute to debilitating motility disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome.
HealthInfoNet, the nonprofit organization managing the Health Information Exchange for the State of Maine, today announced that it is partnering with Health Language, Inc., the global leader in medical terminology management, as it transitions from a two-year demonstration project to a full statewide HIE implementation. Health Language will support the Maine HIE's clinical content integration strategy during this expansion.
