To better prepare new surgeons for the operating room, University of Houston (UH) computer scientists are working with medical researchers at the Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation and Education (MITIE) to improve existing training processes.
In response to the release of Health Canada's Updated Assessment of Bisphenol A (BPA) Exposure from Food Sources, which found that that BPA is safe for use in food-contact materials, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) has issued the following statement: "Health Canada's announcement today once again confirms that BPA is safe for use in food-contact materials," said Steven G. Hentges, Ph.D. of ACC's Polycarbonate/BPA Global Group.
A team of investigators from Brigham and Women's Hospital and the University of Massachusetts have developed a suite of computer algorithms that can accurately predict the behavior of the microbiome - the vast collection of microbes living on and inside the human body.
According to a large worldwide study, the hormone that is produced in the body during exercise called irisin, can prevent and delay the onset of mental faculty decline and Alzheimer's disease. The results of the study were published in the latest issue of the journal Nature Medicine.
The Frozen Food Foundation, in conjunction with the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP), presented Dr. Claire Zoellner, Food Safety Scientist at iFoodDecisionSciences, Inc., with the eleventh annual Frozen Food Foundation Freezing Research Award during IAFP's 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting today.
